Brief History of the School
Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Sen. Sec. School, Abdal came into existence under the aegies of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society in 1986 by Sarpanch S. Karamjit Singh Sohi and the dignity members of the area S. Balkar Singh Ji and S. Avtar Singh Kahlon Ji. The beautiful building has been constructed with the efforts of former Principal Smt. Charanjit kaur and the cooperation of villagers. It is situated in the peaceful and green environment which includes academics and cultural activities. It is a coeducational school extends over two acres of land campus.
We, at Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Sen. Sec. School, Abdal, Amritsar, strive for excellence in all fields such as academic excellence with a strong emphasis on a range of co-curricular activities that help in furnishing the students for a better future. There is a strong focus on social responsibility and global citizenship in all aspects of school life.
The School has a teaching staff of 18 members, Non-Teaching and IV class employees working under the enthusiastic leadership of the Principal Mrs. Pooja Jain and mentorship of S. Bhupinder Singh Ji Sachar, S. Upkar Singh ji and S. Ajit Singh Ji Tuli. The PSEB affiliated school from Nursery to XII offers streams like Humanities and Commerce. Apart from range of academics, co-curricular activities are also organised to nourish the hereditary talents of the students. The school has a comfortable environment with modern facilities. It is a double storey building and has a Gurudwara Sahib Campus.
The school is furnishing comfortable furniture, Computer lab, Interactive Smart Board, Science lab and ventilated room. The school is taking care of 350 students. The school offers a special training of GATKA. There are special arrangements of sports in which HOCKEY has a vital role. Our school won the first position in the tournaments of Chief Khalsa Diwan. The students participate in the different exams in the moral education i.e. SGPC, Sikh Missionary and Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. The school fill the Scholarship forms of NSP as an aid of finance. Our mission is to provide a positive learning environment.
